Cross-Arm Stretch

Healthcare services imageThis simple stretch is a good way to release tension in the muscles that attach to the scapula or shoulder blade.

Cross one arm in front of your chest and pull it towards your chest with your other arm. You can deepen the stretch by retracting or pulling back on the shoulder blade that you are stretching. This is another stretch that is better with a gentle longer duration than something intense and short. ⁠

Shoulder blade tension is another negative effect from prolonged sitting and sedentary work.
